Experience Summary
I am a global aerospace and defense executive. I have more than three decades of aerospace development and program execution experience. I have led or been part of the teams that developed and/or certified the flight control systems for 26 different airframes that reached first flight. I have experience in the development of defense and commercial aircraft, fixed wing, rotary wing, manned and unmanned aircraft, missiles, weapons, rockets, and satellites.
I have been involved in every phase of aerospace development from proposals to concept design to supporting aircraft deployed in Operation Desert Storm. I have developed aircraft with little to no digital tools, and I’ve seen the impact digital transformation can have on a project and a whole company.
Before I came to Siemens in 2022, I was an Associate Director of Engineering in the Electrical Products Directorate at RMD. I led a department of 100+ engineers that designed the RF Guidance Systems for missile products. I was also part of the Land Warfare & Air Defense (LWAD) engineering leadership team. We managed 2,500 engineers of all disciplines that provided engineering for Land Warfare products with an annual revenue of $4.5B.
As Director of Engineering at Moog, I had direct leadership of a worldwide team of 300 Systems/Software/Electronics engineers. My staff developed flight-critical actuation control systems and software for multiple fighter and passenger aircraft. I was also responsible for process and integrated cost and scheduling, for our entire engineering staff of 700 engineers.
I was also the champion and leader of Moog Aircraft’s Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) Initiatives and their Product Life Cycle (PLM) transformation. I completed certification to become a Scaled Agile (SAFe) Consultant in the summer of 2018. I led the initial transition of Moog Aircraft’s engineering development organization from a waterfall-based organization to a model-based, lean-agile organization. I led Moog Aircraft’s first model-based FAA-level A certification of a commercial aircraft control system. I was also a co-lead for the enterprise-level Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) transformation project where I was accountable to Moog’s CEO and the Presidents of Moog Aircraft and Moog Space and Defense business units.
